Trev Tries New Machinery
Trev has decided that he isn't gelling with his GSX R750 and has now bought a 2003 Honda CBR 600RR. Trev is hoping that this bike will inspire more confidence than his gixer did and that times will start falling. Pics to follow soon. 13.06.09
Disappointing performance on the sunny Isle
Following a rain-soaked trackday, Trev and Martin put in disappointing performances in the Endurance Race at Anglesey, both failing to beat their best laptimes from 2008. So it is back to the drawing board with Trev changing his bike to a Honda CBR 600RR and Martin seeking inspiration to improve! Report and pics in blog and gallery. 06.06.2009
Another Point at Sunny Snetterton
In glorious weather, Pirate Racing gain another point in a tight fought round. We finished 15th in class and 21 of 26 overall. As usual with all the if's and but's it could have been a place or two higher but a pleasing result overall and a great weekend of racing. Blog and pics as usual. Pirate Racing are now joint 12th in the Junior 1000 Class. 20.04.2009
First Points of 2009 on the Board
Following an excellent day's racing at a beautiful sunny Mallory Park, Pirate Racing have the first points of the 2009 season on the board. We finished 10th in class and 15th overall in the Juniors overall. This was despite Martin's bike refusing to go into any gear higher than 4th for the whole race.
Report in Blog, pics in Gallery and a couple of short vids in the Video section.
Attention now turns to preparing for the next race at Snetterton which is less than 3 weeks away. 31.03.2009
Pre-Season Testing in Alcarras (or a bit of a jolly?)
Trev and Martin completed the 3 days testing on the cracking Alcarras circuit. Overall, a successful event, fortunes were however a bit mixed. Pictures in the Gallery and report in the Blog as usual. (06.03.2009)
Pirate Racing # 81 Sign up for 2009 – HMRC Junior Endurance
Having completed all rounds of the 2008 Series, Pirate Racing have signed up for 2009. HMRC have changed the format this year, splitting the Junior Series into Junior and Masters. Basically, Novice licence holders compete in Junior, National licence holders compete in Masters and Clubman licence holders will be seeded.
Pirate Racing will compete in the Junior Series which runs alongside the Classic Series, which is for bikes manufactured between 1970 and 1982. This should lead to closer racing with a smaller spread of ability. The provisional dates and venues are listed below – and we can’t wait to get started.
Mallory 29 March
Snetterton 18/19 April
Anglesey 23/24 May
Cadwell Park 4 July
Pembrey 1/2 August
Snetterton 15 August
Silverstone 19 September
Trev and Martin set Personal Bests in Final Race of the Year at Silverstone:
In glorious sunshine, Pirate Racing put in a solid performance with another 16th position, with both riders setting personal best laptimes. This was a great end to the year, with lots of friends and family in attendance. Full report in Blog and pictures in Gallery. (14.10.2008)
Pirate Racing Gain First Points of the Season and the Slater's Bike Award for Best Overall Performance at Mallory:
In a stoppage packed race, Pirate Racing come 13th out of 16 starters in class to gain their first 3 points of the season. In addition they were awarded the Inaugural Slater's Bike Cup for persistence and exhibiting the true spirit of Endurance. This was greatly appreciated (nice gesture Nige) and hopefully we'll follow it up with improved results in future races. Report in Blog and photos in the Gallery as usual. (16.09.2008)
