New Pirate on Board
Following discussions with several prospective riders, Pirate Racing is pleased to welcome Paul Whiteman to the team for 2010.  44 year old Paul who lives in Bruntingthorpe has been competing in the Thundersports Streetfighter series in 2009 , and has progressed well, with a best result of 4th in Class at Brands Hatch, ending up 7th in the Championship.

More details and a pic of course on our riders page.  Welcome Paul, here's to a great 2010.  28.10.09

Rider needed for the 2010 Season - Fancy it?
After two great years, Trev has decided to go into semi-retirement as a rider but will continue as mechanic / manager.  We are therefore looking for a new rider to ride with Martin for the 2010 season.  If you are interested, please email us via norry1@gmail.com - go on, you know you want to. 03.10.09

Season ends with respectable performance at Silverstone
In a packed grid race, the season ended with a good performance by the Pirates with a 22nd from 27 in the 1000 class and 30 0f 38 overall.  This was a fitting end to a good season and great to see Trev complete his record of 100% finishes in his races this season.

Thoughts now start to turn to the 2010 season!

Pirate Racing DNF on Difficult Day at Snetterton
On a day tragically marred by the death of Sorrymate.com rider Richard Slater (RIP mate) Pirate Racing took the chequered flag but were classified as DNF due to completing insufficient laps.  This was due to engine problems for Dion and a crash for Martin.

Our deepest sympathies go out to Richard's friends and family.17.08.09

New Pirate Press-Ganged into Action for Snetterton
Due to long-term Pirate racer, Trevor Ricketts, being unable to race at Snetterton in August, Pirate Racing will be unveiling a very able stand-in rider in his place.  We are pleased to announce that Dion Robinson will be sporting the skull and crossbones for the first time and partnering fellow Pirate Martin Norris.

Dion, 48, from Swindon and a driver by profession, is well known in the paddock and despite only having completed 7 races in total, has managed two second places in the HMRC MotoGrande races, one in 2008 and one this year.

Pirate Racing currently lie 13th in the Junior 1000 Championship but anticipate improving on this significantly if things go according to plan this weekend. 09.08.09

Best Performance Yet at Pembrey
Trev and Martin both put in their best performances to date at a very enjoyable Pembrey.  After a wet qualifying session, the race was in great weather conditions and both riders smashed their previous PBs.  Pics and reports in the Gallery and Blog as usual. 06.08.09

2 PB's at a Sweltering Cadwell
Both Trev and Martin knocked over 2-3 seconds off their personal bests at a very, very hot and humid Cadwell Park last weekend in the fourth round of HMRC Endurance.  The weekend was littered with broken bones and fallen riders but both pirates came home safely to earn another 4 points.  Trev definitely looked more comfortable on his new steed, so hopefully more to come at the next round at Pembrey.  07.07.09

Trev Tries New Machinery
Trev has decided that he isn't gelling with his GSX R750 and has now bought a 2003 Honda CBR 600RR.  Trev is hoping that this bike will inspire more confidence than his gixer did and that times will start falling.  Pics to follow soon. 13.06.09

Disappointing performance on the sunny Isle
Following a rain-soaked trackday, Trev and Martin put in disappointing performances in the Endurance Race at Anglesey, both failing to beat their best laptimes from 2008.  So it is back to the drawing board with Trev changing his bike to a Honda CBR 600RR and Martin seeking inspiration to improve!  Report and pics in blog and gallery.  06.06.2009

Another Point at Sunny Snetterton
In glorious weather, Pirate Racing gain another point in a tight fought round.  We finished 15th in class and 21 of 26 overall.  As usual with all the if's and but's it could have been a place or two higher but a pleasing result overall and a great weekend of racing.  Blog and pics as usual.  Pirate Racing are now joint 12th in the Junior 1000 Class.  20.04.2009

First Points of 2009 on the Board
Following an excellent day's racing at a beautiful sunny Mallory Park, Pirate Racing have the first points of the 2009 season on the board.  We finished 10th in class and 15th overall in the Juniors overall. This was despite Martin's bike refusing to go into any gear higher than 4th for the whole race.

Report in Blog, pics in Gallery and a couple of short vids in the Video section.

Attention now turns to preparing for the next race at Snetterton which is less than 3 weeks away. 31.03.2009

Pre-Season Testing in Alcarras (or a bit of a jolly?)
Trev and Martin completed the 3 days testing on the cracking Alcarras circuit.  Overall, a successful event, fortunes were however a bit mixed.  Pictures in the Gallery and report in the Blog as usual. (06.03.2009)
