Pirate Racing # 81 Sign up for 2009 – HMRC Junior Endurance
Having completed all rounds of the 2008 Series, Pirate Racing have signed up for 2009. HMRC have changed the format this year, splitting the Junior Series into Junior and Masters. Basically, Novice licence holders compete in Junior, National licence holders compete in Masters and Clubman licence holders will be seeded.
Pirate Racing will compete in the Junior Series which runs alongside the Classic Series, which is for bikes manufactured between 1970 and 1982. This should lead to closer racing with a smaller spread of ability. The provisional dates and venues are listed below – and we can’t wait to get started.
Mallory 29 March
Snetterton 18/19 April
Anglesey 23/24 May
Cadwell Park 4 July
Pembrey 1/2 August
Snetterton 15 August

Trev and Martin set Personal Bests in Final Race of the Year at Silverstone:
In glorious sunshine, Pirate Racing put in a solid performance with another 16th position, with both riders setting personal best laptimes. This was a great end to the year, with lots of friends and family in attendance. Full report in Blog and pictures in Gallery. (14.10.2008)
Pirate Racing Gain First Points of the Season and the Slater's Bike Award for Best Overall Performance at Mallory:
In a stoppage packed race, Pirate Racing come 13th out of 16 starters in class to gain their first 3 points of the season. In addition they were awarded the Inaugural Slater's Bike Cup for persistence and exhibiting the true spirit of Endurance. This was greatly appreciated (nice gesture Nige) and hopefully we'll follow it up with improved results in future races. Report in Blog and photos in the Gallery as usual. (16.09.2008)
One Place off the Points Again at Cadwell:
Pirate Racing came 16th out of 18 in class and 28th out of 31 overall at a dry and pleasant Cadwell last weekend. In a race with very few crashes, we both finished with no mishaps and better times than our previous bests. Report in Blog and pictures in Gallery as usual. (03.09.2008)
Next Race is at Cadwell on 30th August:
We have entered the next Junior Endurance race at Cadwell on 30th August. It looks as though our grid may be smaller this time due to several Junior Teams taking the opportunity to try out the Senior event. We hope to improve on our last outing where we both crashed! (15.08.08)
Pirate Racing Crash and Burn at Snetterton!:
Our first DNF happened at Snetterton with Nitro highsiding at the Esses and Trev losing the front at Sears. Report in the Blog and a few photos in the Gallery. (05.08.08)
Placed 16th in Round 3 Despite an Off on Friday and a Snapped Subframe: Trev put in a good race at Pembrey to put Pirate Racing one place outside the points despite an eventful couple of days. An over-enthusiatic overtaking manoevure saw Martin being taken out at the Honda Curve before lunch on Friday - resulting in a snapped subframe and sore shoulder. See blog for race report. (26.06.08)
Pirate Racing Enter the MotoGrande at Pembrey: As well as the 2 hour Junior Endurance race, both Trev and Martin have entered the Saturday MotoGrande Race, an 18 lap "traditional" race. Both of us are looking forward to our first ever race start off the grid. (26.05.08)
Decent Performance at Snett Despite Re-Fuelling Cock-up: Despite making a schoolboy error (Nitro) and failing to re-fuel between sessions, we were pleased with our performance - starting higher up the grid and mixing it in the field. Details as usual in our Blog. (18.05.08)
Entry in for Snetterton: We have submitted our entry for the next race (Snetterton,17th May). We'll be pleased to see you there. (05.05.08)
